rasputin

Sounds like one creepy fella from what I was able to read about him. Painter X.

Drawing from Alias (autodesk?) Sketchbook Pro. They did a lot of things right in that software. First, the pencil stroke comes out sooo smooth - just like it would on a sheet of paper. I can never get that in PS or Painter. If someone can tell me how, please do. Also the zoom is incredible. When I zoom out in PS and Painter the anti aliasing gets hosed. Somehow, not in this little app. 'Course it's not made for much past the drawing stage, but I do keep going back to it. I'm just working out a bit of the form with a big fat airbrush on a layer and then erasing out with a harder edged tool.

yeah Sketchbook Prop is a fantastic application especially on TabletPC. The CPU use is so low that you can sketch for ever away from the power socket.

Awesome! I just learned a lot about facial anatomy by looking at the way you rendered Rasp's face.

I've been really curious about Alias Sketchbook, I'll have to check it out for sure now.

Hi Mark,

Don't know if you remember me from your Blue Sky days, but i was the guy in modeling always asking you questions about Zbrush.

Great blog, and cool paintings as always! Rasputin is great (he also reminds me of one of the harry potter characters from the movies as well). Great work.

Sheesh Mark... I'm all excited because I finally figured out how to draw with a blue leaded pencil and you're off drawing with some sort of newfangled technology... hows a guy supposed to catch up with you? ...nice work!

Terrific piece, Mark! I dig the crazed expression and the hint of red around the hands is a nice touch.
